Job Description

Act as the client-side senior electrical technician on the Tier III colocation data center. The role supervises, inspects and verifies the electrical installation works carried out by the main contractor and its subcontractors, ensures compliance with approved drawings, specifications and Tier III requirements, supports testing & commissioning, and prepares to operate and maintain the electrical infrastructure after handover.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and inspect MV/LV switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, batteries, PDUs/RPPs, busways, cable trays, cabling, and terminations.

Verify installations against approved drawings, SLDs, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.

Inspect cable termination, grounding, bonding, lightning protection, and A/B power segregation.

Raise and close punch-list items, site observations, and NCRs.

Witness electrical testing and commissioning, including insulation, earth resistance, protection, generator, UPS, ATS/STS, and IST testing.

Verify protection settings, test results, and commissioning documentation.

Support preparation of SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, O&M manuals, and preventive maintenance plans.

Coordinate with contractors, OEMs, consultants, and other engineering disciplines.

Prepare daily/weekly reports and provide technical updates to the Head of Electrical Department.

Support troubleshooting of electrical faults and EPMS/BMS alarms during commissioning and early operations.

Witness pre-commissioning tests: insulation resistance (megger), continuity, earth resistance, polarity, phase rotation, CT/VT and relay tests

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Power Technology
• 8–10 years of electrical installation, testing or maintenance experience
• At least 3 years on data centers, telecom hubs, hospitals or other mission-critical facilities
• Hands-on experience with generators, UPS systems and LV switchgear (Schneider, ABB, Siemens, Eaton or similar)
• Preferred: Uptime Institute ATD/AOS, CDCP/CDCT or equivalent data center training; NFPA 70E / electrical safety training
