The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company's general accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting timely month-end and year-end financial reporting. The role supervises daily accounting activities, maintains compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and provides financial support across all subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions across all subsidiaries.
- Review and approve journal entries, expense postings, accruals, prepayments, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities.
- Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense registers, ensuring accurate depreciation and amortization.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal control procedures.
- Support the preparation of management reports, financial statements, and audit schedules.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
- Review employee expense claims, petty cash reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff while ensuring accounting tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and ERP efficiencies.
Experience
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.
- Strong experience with ERP systems (Odoo preferred).
- Solid understanding of IFRS, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
