Job Description

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the company's general accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, and supporting timely month-end and year-end financial reporting. The role supervises daily accounting activities, maintains compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and provides financial support across all subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions across all subsidiaries.
• Review and approve journal entries, expense postings, accruals, prepayments, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain fixed asset and prepaid expense registers, ensuring accurate depreciation and amortization.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal control procedures.
• Support the preparation of management reports, financial statements, and audit schedules.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Review employee expense claims, petty cash reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff while ensuring accounting tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and ERP efficiencies.

Experience

• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.
• Strong experience with ERP systems (Odoo preferred).
• Solid understanding of IFRS, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
